Sailing is allowed!

Let’s first answer the question: “Is it allowed to sail on the canals of Amsterdam during the corona crisis? In general, the answer is yes. With a number of things to look out for you will have a wonderful day on the water. Always try to follow the guidelines of the RIVM. Always keep 1.5 m away from others on the jetty and on the boat. And do not go outside when you have flu symptoms.

How many people are you allowed to sail with?

From the 1st of June, the rules for sailing in Amsterdam have been relaxed and you can sail with more than one person per boat. Because the Eco boats are spacious enough to keep a distance of 1.5 meters, it is allowed to sail with a maximum of 12 people if you are a household. If you’re not a household, you’re allowed to sail with a maximum of 6 people.

Reservation free of charge

Are you afraid that your weekend plans can’t go through due to last minute measures and don’t want to make a reservation for the weekend. Then you can always call to make a reservation without any obligation. This means that you only pay when the cruise continues. We do recommend to make an online reservation on the day itself. To make the process completely contactless.

Alternative route

If the canals are temporarily closed, we always have an alternative route outside the city centre. We will provide you with this map before you set off.

Sailing during the week

Would you like to sail, but want to avoid the hustle and bustle? Then we recommend renting a boat during the week. The canals are completely quiet during the week and you can enjoy the beautiful city. Amsterdam without tourists gives a unique streetscape that hasn’t been seen for decades. Enjoy all the beauty that Amsterdam has to offer. The beautiful sights that are now deserted. The centuries old bridges where you can sail under on your own. And the empty streets that give Amsterdam a whole new character.

What measures does Eco boats Amsterdam take?

We ask our customers all to keep a distance of 1.5 meters. Wait at the top of the jetty until you receive a signal from an employee and you can take a seat on your boat. You don’t have to leave a deposit to avoid contact.

Always follow the instructions of employees and if it is busy, the drop-off location may be different from the drop-off location.
