Boating during Amsterdam Light Festival

The Amsterdam Light Festival returns from 26 November 2026 to 17 January 2027. Although the theme of the fifteenth edition has not yet been announced, you can look forward to spectacular light artworks illuminating Amsterdam’s canals and streets.

At Eco Boats Amsterdam, you can choose from the following options:

• Private boat for up to 8 or 12 people (self-skippered)
• Private boat with a skipper for up to 30 people
• Tickets for a 1-hour and 15-minute boat tour

Amsterdam Light Festival opening hours

The light installations are on daily from 4:30 PM to 11:00 PM. During the Christmas holidays, the lights also stay on until 11:00 PM every day. The only exception is New Year’s Eve, 31 December, when they switch off earlier at 9:00 PM.

Sail past the most beautiful works of art

From hundreds of submissions, the jury has selected several breathtaking artworks. After months of preparation, these pieces will finally be unveiled to the public. While the artworks are also accessible via a walking route, they truly shine when viewed from the water. The shimmering canals enhance the beauty of the pieces, set against Amsterdam’s iconic waterways.
