With the canals of Amsterdam as your personal, everchanging backdrop, we can assure you; you won’t find a wedding venue like this on land.

Would you prefer a seated dinner? Our custom catering options can be tailored entirely to your tastes and preferences.

Please note: Officiating a legal wedding ceremony aboard requires prior approval from the municipality of Amsterdam, for which couples will need to arrange independently.

Aboard our open sloops:

  • A silent disco option to turn the canals into your personal dancefloor
  • Please note that seated dinners, sound systems, and karaoke are not available on the open sloops

Our saloon boats offer panoramic views of the canals and Amsterdam’s beauty, allowing for a wedding venue unlike any you will find on dry land.

Aboard the Barbarella, our vintage saloon boat, you can host:

  • The wedding ceremony for up to 12 passengers
  • The wedding reception for up to 12 passengers
  • Seated dinner for up to 12 passengers, with custom catering tailored to your tastes

Aboard our 50 person saloon boat you can host:

  • Standing reception: maximum 50 people
  • Walking dinner / buffet: maximum 35 people
  • Sit-down dinner: maximum 25 people

Aboard our 75 person saloon boat you can host:

  • Standing reception: maximum 75 people
  • Walking dinner / buffet: maximum 50 people
  • Sit-down dinner: maximum 30 people

Partly. Routes can be adjusted based on your preferences, within local regulations and time limits.

Amsterdam has strict rules against playing music on the canals. Self-drive boats
  • No. Music and speakers are not allowed on Amsterdam canals. Violations may result in a €140 fine.
Private boat with skipper
  • Music is only permitted via silent disco headphones. External speakers or loud music are not allowed.
Public canal cruise
  • No. Music and speakers are not allowed on Amsterdam canals.
Music being played on the canals is only allowed under special circumstances such as Gay Pride and Kings day. The Pride Parade can only play music, spectators may not.

Self-drive boats
  • Yes, if there is availability. We recommend checking the website or contacting us directly if you are unsure about availability.
Private boat with skipper
  • This is not possible as we need to prepare the boat and ensure availability in advance
Public canal cruise
  • Yes, if there is availability. We recommend checking the website or contacting us directly if you are unsure about availability.

The cancellation policy depends on the type of booking: Self-drive boat rentals:
  • Up to 48 hours before the reservation start time, the tenant may reschedule the reservation free of charge, for up to one year after the originally booked date.
  • In the event of a complete cancellation? The tenant owes Eco Boats Amsterdam 50% of the total agreed rental rate.
  • Within 48 hours before the reservation start time, cancellation is not possible, and the tenant owes 100% of the total agreed rental rate to Eco Boats Amsterdam.
  • If the reservation is made within 48 hours, rescheduling or cancellation is not permitted.
Private cruises with skipper:
  • Up to 1 month before departure: full refund
  • Between 1 month and 1 week before departure: 75% refund
  • Within 1 week before departure: no refund
Public canal cruises:
  • Up to 24 hours before departure: free cancellation
  • Within 24 hours before departure: no refund (100% charged)
In case of severe weather, your booking may be rescheduled into a voucher (no refund). Event bookings (e.g. Kings Day, Pride) cannot be cancelled.

Self Drive Boats
  • No toilet on board.
Private Boat with Skipper
  • Only the Barbarella (12 person salon boat) and our larger salon boats for 50 and 75 persons have toilets aboard
Public Canal Cruise
  • No toilet on board. We advise using the facilities near the departure point before boarding.

We are open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Hours may vary during seasonal periods or public holidays. Please contact us to confirm current opening times.

Yes. For larger groups we offer private salon boats with a skipper, accommodating for 50 or 75 people. These are ideal for corporate events, large celebrations, and group occasions. Contact us for availability and pricing.

Yes, dogs are welcome on board all our boats.

Self-drive boats
  • Yes, you may bring your own food and drinks. Alcohol is allowed for passengers, but the driver must remain sober at all times.
Private boat with skipper
  • Catering is arranged through us. Own food and drinks are not permitted, except during specific events such as Kings Day and Amsterdam Gay Pride.
Public canal cruises
  • Own food and drinks are not permitted. Drinks are available on board.
