Where will you be working?

We operate from seven locations across Amsterdam and we are constantly expanding across the city. Our fleet comprises 64 self-propelled sloops, 6 large sloops, and 1 saloon boat which you can be the captain of. Our fleet is shared across our two brands: Eco Boats Amsterdam and Canal Motorboats. When you join us, you work for both companies, allowing you to enjoy genuine variety across every shift.

Fun fact: Canal Motorboats has been operating since 1996, making it the longest-established boat rental company in Amsterdam.

What does your day look like?

• Welcome guests aboard and brief them on relevant information
• Captaining vessels as you navigate Amsterdam’s canals
• Maintaining the presentation of the boat between tours
• Uphold all on-board safety procedures
• Deliver informative and engaging commentary during tours
• You become a professional ambassador to the city of Amsterdam

What is your background?

• Minimum age of 18
• Valid Small Boat Licence (Klein Vaarbewijs) – mandatory requirement
• VHF Radio Certificate (Marifoon Certificaat)
• You’re willing to obtain your SVH diploma
• You’re responsible and professionally presented
• Customer-focused with strong communication skills
• Available for at least two days a week, including weekends
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Having a third language is a strong advantage
• Previous experience in hospitality or tourism is advantageous
