The Amstel Boat is a comfortable, 7-seater self-drive boat rental for friends, families, and small groups who want to explore Amsterdam at their own pace. Take the wheel, follow your chosen route, and enjoy Amsterdam without sharing the boat with other guests.
You are the captain. Before departure, our team explains how the boat works, which routes you can follow, and the main rules for boating in Amsterdam.
The Amstel Boat is easy to steer with a steering wheel, even if you have no previous boating experience. You also receive a route map before departure. The captain must be at least 18 years old.
The Amstel Boat accommodates 1 to 7 people. The boat is exclusively for your group, so you can choose your own route, stop for a break, and explore Amsterdam at your own pace.
The boat is available to rent for €50 an hour, for a minimum of 2 hours. That way, you’ll have plenty of time to set off at a leisurely pace and follow a lovely route through Amsterdam’s canals.

The Amstel Boat departs from Daniël Goedkoopstraat 1, 1096 BD Amsterdam. The location is around a 15-minute walk from Overamstel metro station and is easy to reach by public transport or bicycle. Paid parking is available nearby.

Always give priority to commercial shipping and boats that are longer than your boat. This includes canal tour boats. Beware: always giving priority means from both left and right!
