Eco Boats Amsterdam

The Amstel Boat

Amsterdam moves quickly on land. On the water, you set the pace. The Amstel Boat is a comfortable, 7-seater self-drive boat rental for friends, families, and small groups who want to explore Amsterdam at their own pace. Take the wheel, follow your chosen route, and enjoy Amsterdam without sharing the boat with other guests.

Drive the boat yourself

You are the captain. Before departure, our team explains how the boat works, which routes you can follow, and the main rules for boating in Amsterdam.

The Amstel Boat is easy to steer with a steering wheel, even if you have no previous boating experience. You also receive a route map before departure. The captain must be at least 18 years old.

Space for up to 7 people

The Amstel Boat accommodates 1 to 7 people. The boat is exclusively for your group, so you can choose your own route, stop for a break, and explore Amsterdam at your own pace.

Boat rental location

The Amstel Boat departs from Daniël Goedkoopstraat 1, 1096 BD Amsterdam. The location is around a 15-minute walk from Overamstel metro station and is easy to reach by public transport or bicycle. Paid parking is available nearby.

From Amsterdam East, you can leave the traffic behind and begin your trip towards the quieter Amsterdam canals.

Amstel Boat rental price

Rent the Amstel Boat from €50 per hour. The minimum rental duration is 2 hours. A mandatory city tax of €2.60 per person is added during booking. This applies to all boat rentals in Amsterdam.

Optional activities for your boat trip

Add an activity to your Amstel Boat booking for €3 per person.

Plastic fishing

Collect plastic from the canals while you cruise. We provide nets and rubbish bags, so your group has everything needed to take part. It is an easy activity for children and adults and helps leave the Amsterdam canals a little cleaner than you found them.

Amsterdam canals quiz

Test your knowledge of Amsterdam while cruising through the city. You receive quiz sheets, pens, and questions about Amsterdam’s canals, landmarks, and history.

The quiz is available in separate versions for adults and children. Let us know how many people will take part when making your reservation.
